Biography of Luangta Narongsak Khīṇālayo

Luangta Narongsak was born in Nakhon Sawan Province, Thailand on Monday, August 18th, 1952. He became a lawyer, barrister and later a judge where he passed the judiciary examination on his first attempt and later succeeded in earning several titles and achievements throughout his career.

In 1976, Luangta Narongsak entered monkhood for a short term under the guidance of Bhikkhu Punyananda. Here he met Luangpu Khao Analayo at Wat Tam Klang Phane, who guided him in attaining inner peace. As a Lay person, he continued his practice under many esteemed teachers. He also founded the Dhamma Club for the Court at Saraburi and the Dhamma Practice Club of the Court of Justice in Bangkok.

At the age of 59, Luangta decided to retire and went into monkhood at Wat Komet Rattanaram, where Chao Khun Medhajarn was his preceptor. After ordination, Luangta moved to Wat Pa Nak Nimit, to practice dhamma under the guidance of Luangpu Awan Khemmako for 4 years. Later Luangta returned to Nakhon Sawan Province, where he received guidance from Luangpu Lee Tanangaro for another 2 years.

Luangta Narongsak currently resides at Buddha Dhamma Satharn Panjakiri, where he continues to teach Dhamma.

Please note the programme is subject to change. Unlike the usual monthly silent retreat, there will be some dialogue between participants.

Mobile Phones
Participants are kindly requested to put away their phones.

Lunch
Participants need to bring their own lunch. Tea/coffee will be provided.
Tea Breaks
Please take individual tea breaks when you need them, so as to minimise congregating & talking. The beverage station is located next door to the meditation hall.

The doors to the Centre and meditation hall will be left open to maximise ventilation. If it is cool, please dress appropriately, and bring a meditation shawl if you wish. There is cooling & heating in the meditation hall.

EVERYONE IS MOST WELCOME! – Registration not required.

Parking
Please keep the car park at the back of the Buddhaloka Centre FREE for walking meditation. Please be PARTICULARLY mindful when parking on the streets around the Centre and ensure that you do not block driveways in any way.
