Finding the Buddha in the Heart of the Journey | A one day silent meditation retreat | Led by Ajahn Nissarano

This meditation retreat day will focus on using contemplation of the Buddha to develop faith or confidence, stillness and loving-kindness (Metta).
Time: 8.30 am to 4.30 pm
Venue: BSV City Centre (Buddhaloka) 71 Darling Road, Malvern East, VIC 3145
Programme:
8.30 am – 10.00 am
– Welcome
– Taking the Refuges & Precepts – 5 & 8 precepts
– Chanting (as per BSV Sunday morning programme)
– Introductory Dhamma Talk :
– Guided meditation
– Q & A
– Guideline for walking meditation
10:00 am – 11 am
– Individual practice : walking & sitting meditation, and contemplation
11:00 am – Lunch
For those taking 8 precepts, please eat before midday
12 – 12.15 pm
– Individual practice : walking & sitting meditation, and contemplation
12.15 – 1.30 pm
– Guided Meditation or Sutta Discussion:
1.30 – 2.30 pm

Short individual interviews (about 10 minutes) in the dining area next door, on a first come, first served basis.

This will be a silent retreat, in order to support the meditation & contemplation. So please speak only when necessary.

Participants are kindly requested to put away their phones.
Questions
Please write down your questions as they occur to you during the day and put them in the box outside the meditation hall. They will be answered during the last session for the day.
As the doors to the Centre and meditation hall will be left open to maximise ventilation, please dress warmly and bring a blanket or meditation shawl if you wish. There is heating in the hall.
Breaks:
Lunch
Participants need to bring their own lunch. Tea/coffee will be provided.
Tea Breaks
Please take individual tea breaks when you need them, so as to minimise congregating & talking.
Questions
Please write down your questions or comments as they occur to you and put them in the box in the foyer. They will be discussed during the last session for the day, between 3.30 pm – 4.30 pm.
The doors to the Centre and meditation hall will be left open to maximise ventilation. If it is cool, please dress appropriately, and bring a meditation shawl if you wish. There is cooling & heating in the meditation hall.
EVERYONE IS MOST WELCOME! – Registration not required.
Parking: Please keep the car park at the back of the Buddhaloka Centre free for walking meditation.
Please be PARTICULARLY mindful when parking on the streets around the Centre and ensure that you do not block driveways in any way.
