One Day Silent Meditation Retreat | Led by Ayya Upekkha

Time: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Venue: BSV Buddhaloka Centre,  71 Darling Road, Malvern East, VIC 3145

Programme:
8:30 am: Chanting in Pali/English
– Taking the Three Refuges
– Taking the 5 precepts OR Taking the 8 precepts (till Sunday dawn-break)
– Recollection of the Buddha, Dhamma & Sangha
– Metta Sutta (Pali & English recitation)

9:00 am: Guided Meditation
– Sitting, Walking, Standing postures

9:30 am: Noble silence
– Sitting meditation in hall OR walking meditation outdoors

11:00 am: Lunch
For those taking 8 precepts, please eat before midday

12:30 pm: Personal time
– Walking meditation and/or rest

1:30 pm: Noble silence
– Walking and sitting meditation (self-practice) OR meditation interview (please write names on form provided)

3:00 pm: Tea break

3:30 pm:
– Q & A
– Discussion
– Dedication of Merits

4:30 pm
– End of Program

Noble Silence
This will be a silent retreat, in order to support the meditation & contemplation. So please speak only when necessary.
Mobile Phones
Participants are kindly requested to put away their phones.
Questions
To support Noble Silence, we won’t have Q&A after the Dhamma Talks & Guided Meditation. So please write down your questions or comments a they occur to you during the day and place them in the box in the foyer.  They will be answered during the last session for the day, between 3.30 – 4.30 pm.

Breaks:
Lunch
Participants need to bring their own lunch. Tea/coffee will be provided.
Tea Breaks
Please take individual tea breaks when you need them, so as to minimise congregating & talking. The beverage station is located next door to the meditation hall.

The doors to the Centre and meditation hall will be left open to maximise ventilation. If it is cool, please dress appropriately, and bring a meditation shawl if you wish. There is cooling & heating in the meditation hall.

ALL ARE VERY WELCOME! – Registration not required.

Parking
Please keep the car park at the back of the Buddhaloka Centre FREE for walking meditation.

Please be PARTICULARLY mindful when parking on the streets around the Centre and ensure that you do not obstruct driveways in any way.
