The Buddhist Society of Victoria warmly invites you to embark on a meaningful journey of service, spiritual growth, and community enrichment. We are pleased to offer a unique opportunity for those who wish to deepen their connection to the Dhamma while actively supporting our community by taking on key roles at the Sanctuary of Stillness (SOS) Retreat Centre.
By taking on these roles, you will contribute to the smooth running of the retreat centre while also deepening your spiritual practice and fostering a strong sense of community. This service brings immense fulfillment as you help create and maintain a space for reflection, transformation, and inner peace.
Caretaker (Primary Role)
We are seeking a dedicated live-in caretaker to manage the day-to-day operations of the centre. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth running of the facilities and fostering a peaceful, supportive environment for everyone.
Key responsibilities include:

- General upkeep of the centre
- Coordinating daily tasks
- Manage daily dana operations
- Assisting with retreatants
Backup Caretakers
Become part of our Backup Caretakers Team and help support the smooth functioning of the centre while maintaining its serene and welcoming atmosphere. This role offers flexibility, allowing you to contribute for a few days, weeks, or longer, depending on your availability and interest.
We welcome individuals of all genders who are committed to serving in a supportive and harmonious setting.
