DESCRIPTION:The BSV committee invites everyone to join the Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony – a ceremony to offer robes and other requisites to the Sangha as an expression of our gratitude. This year’s event will be held at the Newbury Buddhist Monastery (107 Beaches Lane\, Newbury).Date: Sunday\, 6 November 2022Time: 09:30 am – 03:00 pm (AEDT) \nPlease arrive by 9.00 am to enable the event to commence at 9.30 am sharp. In the morning there will be a Dhamma Talk by Ajahn Nissarano followed by Rice Pindapatha and offering lunch dana to the Monastics. Communal lunch will be at 11.30am. If you wish\, please bring a dish to share with the monastics and the lay community.  The Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony will begin at 12:30 pm. \nAttending in person:It is a compulsory requirement to register to attend the Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony at NBM. This will greatly assist us in the organisation of the event. Register via Eventbrite HERE \nYou are encouraged to check the weather at Newbury before leaving home and bring suitable clothes (e.g. jacket\, hat/beanie) including an umbrella. The weather in Newbury is usually 5 degrees cooler than in Melbourne. It is highly recommended to wear sturdy walking shoes as the terrain is uneven and can be muddy. \nBuses to NBMA bus has been organised to provide transport to those wishing to attend the Kathina Ceremony. \nBookings are essential as seats are limited. The cost is $20 per person for the return trip. Last day to secure a seat is Sunday 30 Oct 2022\, 5 pm (if seats are still available).Please book your seat HERE \nMeeting Point:The bus will depart from the BSV Buddhaloka Centre (71 Darling Road\, Malvern East) by 7 am SHARP. Please bring a plate of food to share with the monastics and lay community. Ensure all food is freshly cooked and prepared in advance. We kindly request those who wish to make an offering\, to deliver their contribution to the Vihara kitchen upon arrival at the Centre (no later than 10:30am). This will greatly assist with lunch preparation.  \n \n\n

SUMMARY:Christmas holiday meditation retreat
DESCRIPTION:Give yourself the best Christmas present by coming to our “The Word of the Buddha” retreat. Join us for a non-residential retreat\, where we meditate and discuss Dhamma. We will be going through the “Word of the Buddha” booklet and having short meditation and discussion sessions.\nTeacher: Ajahn Mudito\nVenue:  BSV Buddhaloka Centre\nDates/times:\nSunday 25th December  :  1pm – 3pm\n(The session will follow the regular Sunday morning Dhamma talk and communal lunch dana)\nMonday 26th December :  9am – 11am and 1pm – 3pm\nTuesday 27th December : 9am – 11am and 1pm – 3pm\nIf you are staying for both sessions on Monday & Tuesday\, please bring your own lunch. Tea/coffee will be provided. \n\n\nNo registration required.  Feel free to join in any or all of the sessions. \n\n\nPlease find HERE the PDF version of “The Word of the Buddha”.  Ajahn Mudito will refer to this during Dhamma discussions throughout the retreat. \n\n\nThe Meditation Hall will be kept open until 5 pm on all three days for those who wish to continue with their meditation after 3pm. \n\nThis event will not be live streamed.
