DESCRIPTION:Monthly Day Meditation Retreat led by Aranavihari\nTime: 8.30 am to 4.30 pm\nVenue: BSV City Centre (Buddhaloka) 71 Darling Road\, Malvern East\, VIC 3145 \nProgramme:\n8.30 am – 10.00 am\n– Welcome\n– Taking the Refuges & Precepts – 5 & 8 precepts\n– Chanting (as per BSV Sunday morning programme)\n– Introductory Dhamma Talk : \n– Guided meditation\n– Q & A\n– Guideline for walking meditation \n10:00 am – 11 am\n– Individual practice : walking & sitting meditation\, and contemplation \n11:00 am – Lunch\nFor those taking 8 precepts\, please eat before midday \n12 – 12.15 pm\n– Individual practice : walking & sitting meditation\, and contemplation \n12.15 – 1.30 pm\n– Guided Meditation or Sutta Discussion:\n \n1.30 – 2.30 pm\n– Individual practice\nwalking & sitting meditation\, and contemplation \nand/or \nShort individual interviews (about 10 minutes) in the dining area next door\, on a first come\, first served basis.\nPlease wait your turn near the backdoor of the dining area \n2.30 – 3.30 pm\n– Individual practice : walking & sitting meditation\, and contemplation \n3.30 – 4.30 pm\n– Discussion / Q & A\n– Sharing of Merits\n– Conclusion \nNoble Silence\nThis will be a silent retreat\, in order to support the meditation & contemplation. So please speak only when necessary.\nMobile Phones\nParticipants are kindly requested to put away their phones.\nQuestions\nPlease write down your questions as they occur to you during the day and put them in the box outside the meditation hall. They will be answered during the last session for the day. \nAs the doors to the Centre and meditation hall will be left open to maximise ventilation\, please dress warmly and bring a blanket or meditation shawl if you wish. There is heating in the hall. \nBreaks:\nLunch\nParticipants need to bring their own lunch. Tea/coffee will be provided.\nTea Breaks\nPlease take individual tea breaks when you need them\, so as to minimise congregating & talking. \nQuestions\nPlease write down your questions or comments as they occur to you and put them in the box in the foyer. They will be discussed during the last session for the day\, between 3.30 pm – 4.30 pm. \nThe doors to the Centre and meditation hall will be left open to maximise ventilation. If it is cool\, please dress appropriately\, and bring a meditation shawl if you wish. There is cooling & heating in the meditation hall. \nEVERYONE IS MOST WELCOME! – Registration not required. \nParking: Please keep the car park at the back of the Buddhaloka Centre free for walking meditation. \nPlease be PARTICULARLY mindful when parking on the streets around the Centre and ensure that you do not block driveways in any way. \n
