DESCRIPTION:Ajahn Brahm’s Vesak Meditation Retreat in Melbourne\n\nThe BSV Committee invites you to participate in a two day Vesak Retreat led by Ajahn Brahm. The retreat will be held at the Buddhaloka Centre Malvern (BCM). \nDates: Monday\, 27 May 2024 and Tuesday\, 28 May 2024\nLocation: 71 Darling Rd\, Malvern East\nTime: 9:00 am – 3.00 pm (AEST) \nNoble Silence: Apart from the discussion periods\, this will be a silent retreat\, in order to support the meditation & contemplation. So please speak only when necessary. \nProgramme on Monday & Tuesday\n09:00 – 10:00       Dhamma Talk\n10:00 – 11:00       Guided Meditation\n11:00 – 12:30       Rice pindapāta and offering lunch dana to the monastics\, followed by communal lunch\n12:30 – 13:00       Break\n13:00 – 14:00       Silent Sitting Meditation and/or Walking Meditation\n14:00 – 15:00       Q&A \nLunch dana\nPlease bring ready-to-eat food to share with the monastics and the lay community. No food preparation and reheating available. Please note that the dana “drop-off” area will be at the front entrance of BCM along Darling Road. There will be volunteers waiting to accept your dana offering. (The car park at the back of BCM will be closed on both days) \nTea Breaks: Please take individual tea breaks when you need them\, so as to minimise congregating & talking. Tea/coffee will be provided. \nMobile Phones: Participants are kindly requested to put away their phones. \nCar Parking: The Car park at the back of the Buddhaloka Centre will be CLOSED throughout the retreat to facilitate walking meditation. There is limited street parking available along Darling Road. However\, there is ample alternative street parking area along Waverley Road near Darling Road. \nPlease be PARTICULARLY mindful when parking on the streets around the Centre and ensure that you do not obstruct driveways in any way. \nYou are welcome to join at anytime during the retreat.
